The Wiscasset Rod and Gun Club will be hosting a training course for
Range Safety Officer
On Friday Sept 13th and Saturday Sept 14th at its facility beginning at 6pm Friday and continuing on Sat from 8am to about 2pm. Completion of this course permits the successful applicant to serve as a safety official at any NRA range or other range that recognizes NRA credentials for the purpose of insuring the safe and appropriate conduct and operation of a shooting range.
The course will cover inspection and safe handling of various types of firearms as well as the proper methodologies for misfires, squibs, jams and stove piping.
This is a nine-hour course and will have a break for lunch on Sat. Please bring your lunch with you or you may drive into town for supplies.
